The Zambia Flying Doctor Service (ZFDS) successfully carried out an urgent aeromedical evacuation of a Workers’ Compensation beneficiary from Mufulira to Lusaka for specialised medical care.
The oxygen-dependent patient was safely transported by ZFDS ground ambulance from Mufulira to Peter Zuze Airport under the continuous care of ZFDS medical personnel before being airlifted aboard ZFDS aircraft 9J-FDS to Lusaka.
Upon arrival at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, ZAF side the patient was transferred to The International Hospital of Zambia (Fairview) for further specialised treatment.
This successful mission reflects ZFDS’s and Workers Compensation unwavering commitment to providing timely emergency medical transport and ensuring patients have access to life-saving specialised healthcare through coordinated ground and air ambulance services.
