At the 2025 B2B Expo & SME Conference in Ndola, the Zambia Flying Doctor Service (ZFDS) showcased its comprehensive range of medical services, which include general medical consultations, land and air emergency evacuation services.
A key innovation highlighted was their new online platform, designed to provide accessible medical services and allow users to conveniently request ambulance services virtually.
The Minister of Transport and Logistics, Hon. Museba Frank Tayali, MP, lauded ZFDS for its continued commitment to delivering healthcare services to rural and remote parts of the country.
Speaking during a tour of the ZFDS stand, Hon.Tayali commended the Service for proactively exploring fundraising avenues to support its medical outreach efforts.
Hon. Tayali also expressed delight at the innovations introduced by ZFDS, particularly the aero ambulance and telemedicine (virtual consultation) platforms. “These are excellent initiatives that have the potential to save many lives. You are doing commendable work, and your efforts are greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work,” he said.
The Minister further emphasized the Government’s unwavering support for ZFDS.
“This service was nearly lost, but it is this Government that brought it back to life.
The recapitalization of ZFDS, which included the procurement of a medical helicopter is a clear demonstration of our commitment.
The Government fully recognizes the importance of the Service in delivering healthcare to underserved communities.”
As ZFDS ,We continue to be grateful to the Government through the Ministry of Health in ensuring service delivery for all is achieved and accessible.
