The Zambia Flying Doctor Service (ZFDS) has deployed a team of surgeon trainers from the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) to Mwansabombwe in Luapula Province.

Senior surgeon, Dr. Felix Michelo and Physician Dr. David Nalisa, have arrived and established their base at the ZFDS Ng'anga Bilonda Hospital.

On the 1st of June,2025 , the specialists were briefed by the hospital's Chief Medical Officer, Dr.Tendai Mweemba and Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Lubinda Mpundu, and a tour of the facility was done.

The specialist doctors are in the district to address 15 pending surgical cases, including chronic conditions such as diabetes, from Ng'anga Bilonda Hospital and nearby facilities.

These services are being offered free of charge to residents of Luapula Province and will be available at the hospital for the next seven days.

Residents of Mwansabombwe and in surrounding Districts desiring to access the services are being encouraged to visit the hospital.

The services will run from 1st June, 2025 - 7th June ,2025.At ZFDS health is our priority.
