The Zambia Flying Doctor Service has successfully conducted its first-ever Caesarean section on 14th April 2026, at the AeroMED James Lawless Hospital in Northrise safely delivering a healthy baby girl weighing 3.5 kg.

The procedure was carried out by a skilled and coordinated team:

-Dr. C. Phiri – Lead Surgeon

-Dr. B. Juma – Assistant Surgeon

-Mr. Ngosa Jordan – Scrub Nurse

-Mr. B Kapuwe – Runner

-Mr. Musenge Bupe – Anaesthetist

-Sr. Mambwe Florence – Midwife

-Ms. Mulenga Patricia – Theatre Porter

Together, they brought new life into the world.The successful operation not only safeguarded the mother’s health but also celebrated the arrival of a new life, a powerful reminder of the importance of accessible maternal care.
